Every word yours.
The home for novelists, screenwriters and poets: a studio that knows your form, readers who want to find you, and AI that only ever reads.
INT. LIGHTHOUSE - NIGHT
Wind against the glass. MARA turns the first page toward the lamp.
MARA
It starts here.
Outside, the beam sweeps the black water and, for once, comes back with something.

A studio that knows your form.
Write a screenplay and Heda lays it out like one: scene headings, characters, dialogue, Tab to switch between them. Poems get room to breathe. Novels get chapters, parts and real pages in Letter or A4.

Plan the way you think.
Pin every scene to a corkboard and move it around. Keep sheets for each character and place, lay out what happens on a timeline, and collect photos, links and quotes on a research board.

A second reader that never writes.
The Analyzer reads a chapter or your whole manuscript and points out what's easy to miss: a scar that changes hands, a timeline that doesn't add up, a typo on page 212. Click a note and you're at the line. It won't write a single word for you.
We are against using AI to write. Writing is human. This tool only reads your work to point out typos, contradictions and ideas — it never writes for you.
Readers who came for your kind of story.
Publish a chapter, a poem or a whole script. Readers find you by form, genre and mood, follow you, comment, save and share. Stories and messages keep the conversation going.

Every form, set the way it's meant to be read.
- Novels
- The harbour bells never rang unless a keel drifted past.
- Screenplays
- EXT. TRANSMITTER TOWER - DUSK
- Poetry
- the glass remembers what the sky forgot
- Short stories
- Nobody in Valdeluz owned a clock, so the train was always early.
- Stage plays
- ACT I. A kitchen. Rain on the window. ROSA enters, soaked.
- Comics
- PANEL 3. Close on her hand, still holding the key.
- Essays
- Every map is a confession of what its maker chose to leave out.
Keep going, every day.
Set a daily goal and watch the calendar fill. Only the words you type count. Every session saves a version you can compare side by side and bring back.

Write together
Invite co-writers to a project. See who's in which scene, and choose which version to keep if you both change the same one.
Every version kept
Take snapshots before big changes and compare any two: added words in green, removed in red.
Take it anywhere
PDF with proper script and manuscript layout, Word, EPUB, Final Draft, Fountain, Markdown and plain text.
.heda files
Your whole project in one file — chapters, sheets, boards, images — that opens back in Heda exactly as it was.
Focus mode
Everything disappears except the page and the paragraph you're on.
Bring your drafts
Import Word, text, Markdown, Final Draft and Fountain files and keep writing where you left off.
Written by people. Never by machines.
Heda is built by writers who believe stories should come from someone. We use AI for one thing — to read your work closely when you ask it to — and we never use it to write, and never hand your writing to anyone to train theirs.
Free to write. Room to grow.
Everything you need to write and share is free. Passes add length, the Analyzer, more history and co-writing.

Questions writers ask us.
Is it free?
Yes. Writing, publishing, reading, following and messaging are free for everyone. Premium and Ultra add longer works, the Analyzer, more history and co-writing.
Does Heda use AI to write?
Never. The Analyzer only reads what you choose and points things out — contradictions, typos, pacing, questions to think about. It doesn't write, rewrite or continue a single line.
Who owns what I write?
You do. Drafts are private until you publish them, and you choose who sees each work. We never sell your writing or give it to anyone to train their AI.
Can I take my work with me?
Any time. Export to PDF, Word, EPUB, Final Draft, Fountain or plain text, or download the whole project as a .heda file that opens back in Heda exactly as you left it.
Can I bring my existing drafts?
Yes. Import Word documents, text and Markdown files, or screenplays from Final Draft and Fountain.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. Heda runs in any modern browser, on phones, tablets and computers, with light and dark themes.
Help us build it.
Heda is new, and it's being shaped by the people who use it. Answer any question you like, in your own words. All of them are optional.
